OPINION: I’m too anxious to engage in such details. Once something like that crosses my mind, I can never erase it.
So, I can’t account for the deeper narrative other than that the Danish food critic and actor have been reported to the police for participating in a dinner party in the Faroe Islands.1

With an almost inhuman cold-bloodedness, the lobster’s tail was slowly boiled in water while those around counted to 12. Then they proceeded to eat the tail, while the other diners held the lobster’s claws to keep it from defending itself or scratching them in the face.
At the same time, they struggled with a live octopus that was to be fried alive in a pan.
“The food critic from Berlingske writes, ‘It tastes heavenly pure, not least with a few drops of lemon and a little salt’ (hard paywall). A statement he later allegedly regretted.
Even though I didn’t want to, I cried when it was read aloud to me.
It’s not just cruel; it leaves me feeling hopeless about how much we as humans still lack in our understanding of respect for life. This form of human callousness is not just an affront to the animal’s life but a terrifying reflection of our ability to turn a blind eye to the suffering of others.
It’s disturbing how easily we can normalize behavior where living creatures are reduced to tools for pleasure and entertainment, with no empathy for the suffering inflicted.

The foodcritic defends his presence at the dinner by claiming that he is a journalist and describes what he sees.
Does that mean he would just as indifferently witness a rape and describe its artistic execution? Really?
In my opinion, the story should not be about how the lobster tasted. The story should be about how it was prepared.
What do you think?
